February 2008 - MATA Beer is Vegetarian Approved

MATA Manuka and Artesian are the 1st and the only Vegetarian Society Approved beers in New Zealand

To be vegetarian approved MATA beer has met the following criteria:

• It has not been manufactured using isinglass or other similar animal derivative
• It contains no ingredients which have been genetically modified
• It contains no animal flesh including meat, fish, poultry or shellfish
• It contains no meat or bone stock
• It contains no animal fats including suet, lard, dripping or fish oils nor has it been cooked in same
• It contains no white cooking fats
• It contains no margarine with fish oils
• It contains no gelatine, aspic, block or jelly crystals for glazing, moulding, or other cooking purposes
• It contains no ingredients derived from slaughterhouse by-products
• It contains no battery or intensively produced eggs
• It contains no royal jelly
• It contains no cheese produced with animal rennet
• It is GE Free
